2 APPS you need NOW !!

On this dreary Wednesday, with two long days to weekend, we bring you twp Apps which you really need now, in your smartphone. Check them out, right now...

Gallery Doctor:
Got an Android mobile, You don't have to try very hard to take too many photos with your phone anymore. Gallery Doctor will help clean up the garbage by identifying photos that are too similar, or finding the ones that have poor lighting and may not look very good. The app will run a quick scan of your gallery and divide up photos it thinks may need attention into one of three categories: Bad Photos, Similar Photos, or Photos for Review. Bad Photos are any images that look like they may have had poor lighting or generally not be very useful. Similar Photos collects any pictures that look too much like each other. The third category allows you to manually review all your photos to see if there are any others you want to get rid of. The app will also helpfully show you how much space is taken up on your phone by pictures, and how much space you have remaining.

Privacy Grade:
You may be surprised to learn that your favorite mobile game collects your location and phone data to serve you advertisements. PrivacyGrade verifies which apps use your permissions for legitimate reasons and which only do to display ads. Android apps require permissions for varying reasons. Although some of them make sense (e.g., location data for Foursquare), other apps still collect data even if it seems unrelated (e.g., why does Fruit Ninja collect your location data?). PrivacyGrade assesses apps based on the data they actually collect and what users would expect them to. Apps with high grades collect data that meet user expectations (e.g., Path only collects the data it needs to), whereas apps with lower grades often collect data for advertising purposes (e.g., DrawSomething reads phone status and identity). Check to see if your favorite app is still worthy of the title, or if the app has secretly collected data that it doesn't really need.
